The Empty Chair

                                                                The chair is empty again

this year, because he has

still not come home.

They know he is gone,

but they still carry hope.

Hope that one day he will

Walk through the door.

Hope that they will be able

to see him sitting in the

chair enjoying a meal with

the family again.  Hope that

he is still alive and it

was just a misunderstanding.

But it was not, and these

things will never happen.

The chair will always be

empty.  But even though the chair is empty, he will

forever remain in our hearts

and minds, forever a hero,

forever proud.
