Empty Heart

A burning love so intense

that could never be anything less

My soul cries out for your love

but i get a pigeon not a dove

You're the first thing on my list

and my sanity i risk

in that i will never love another love

as deeply as in this

I'll set all things else aside

and swallow all my pride

and tell you this my only wish

is for me to be your bride

It's unhealthy for my soul

and the stereotype thats so

keeping me from telling you

you make my heart glow

Every word you speak

my knees get weak

I fall and cant recover

Only you could make me rise

and though you don't

I strive to be your lover

Your words can make or break me

Your thoughts hold or shake me

Know not the power you have

or the chains you've tied around me

As i'm on the ground

the chains still have me bound

and rub against my skin

until i'm finally found

Not by you ofcourse

you come very rarely

someone else finds me

crying, bloody, weary

When I was lowest last

with a unintentional fast

with a burden in my aching heart

of our love past-

an angel came to me

and told me not to weep

That he was not the one

that caused me loss of sleep

Love was yearned for by my heart

but it was empty from the start

that this empty love was not for you

but for someone in your part

The highest love you promised

and you told me of loves potential

Its not you that i long for

Its the idea that is essential.
