The Empty House

I am empty.

A vacant house.

Through my halls, silence reigns.

There is no one to turn on the lights of the room.

There is no proof of life within me.

There is only an empty shell.

Until it happened.

They stood in front of me,

Decided that they wanted me,

And stepped inside.

There was sound and music!

There was laughter and liveliness!

And I felt warmth inside of me.

And then they left me again,

Through the coincidence of fate.

Leaving me empty again.

Dead to the world.

Waiting for these friends to one day return.
