Empty inside

Days never seem so long

Nights vanquish in whiskey bottles and regret

Thoughts of the good days become thoughts of the hood days

in seconds reality kicks in and painful memories re-surface

anger and rage swell up and happiness and glee repress

a love like this was a quote used to uplift now its a burning dream

A marriage to murder, a commitment to hurt, a pledge to hatred

As a young man once said when it rains it pours

but what happens when the rain that seemed to bring peace

only feels like acid melting away what was once so beautiful

A soul not yet cleansed only forgotten
