empty promises
the filter meets my lips an agreed upon decision of my hands and lungs
so easy to take a drag.
i've seen the temptress consume so many
and i wonder if that will happen to me.
most likely not.......they all say that.
i take another breath filled with smoke.
the nicotine attacks my brain
the take-over makes my nurons giddy.
a calm comes over me.
the smoke; a decietful comforter; a friendly enemy.
it's so seductive the way it moves, floating around you
the wisps dancing around your fingers.
exhale.
it spreads and dicipates quickly and quietly like it was never there.
come and gone.
my lungs feel used.
my lips meet again, drag, lightness, exhale.
a continuous circle, a need, a fufillment, an emptiness.
my hands, my lips, my lungs;
yes. an agreed upon decision.
