Enchantment

What is the world without words A haze of beauty, a shadow of darkness How to describe places worlds away People we will never meet When I first met poetry as a child, I was amazed She was perfect in her simplicity A single word described a thousand feelings With a single stanza, she showed me a whole new world Yet none of my friends ever seemed to notice They did not have patience with her But I did I cherished the challenge And I learned and loved poetry Reading it Then writing it Few things are so rewarding- To appreciate something that few care to understand.
