Enclosure

This feeling creeps into my chest again

The claws squeeze my heart dry

Panic fills the empty spaces

Another cage has me trapped

My life has been a race

Run away from everyone I know

Run away from everyone who cares

Why do I do this to myself?

Another exciting beginning

The flutters in my stomach return

Happy and walking on air

The claw yanks me back down

My life has been a race

Run away from everyone I know

Run away from everyone who cares

Why do I do this to myself?

The rest of humanity keeps living

Why am I so different?

My body, my soul is twisted

the pain twists itself deeper within me
