In The End
How does it feel to lie to someone who cares about you?
I can tell it never affected you.
What makes it okay for you to be so happy with yourself after using and using and lying and lying?
I told myself it was my fault.
Who deemed it fair for you to get to continue on like nothing ever happened while I only got to hurt?
I was envious of your ability to feel nothing.
Mistake after mistake was made.
Lesson after lesson was learned.
Finally the light had shone through.
A realization that I was capable and deserving of much more than what I’d allowed myself.
Someone new, someone different.
Someone who understood.
There were no lies.
There was no using.
There was feeling, there was passion.
There was love.
My past had been self-detrimental, allowing myself to serve the purpose of a doormat.
My present is personal growth, learning my worth.
My future is helping myself and the one I love grow within and outside of our relationship.
A healthy relationship means a healthy mindset, and a healthy mind is where self-love starts.
