The End

There it is

The end of our story

With such a rocky end

Rough as a quarry

No more stitches left to mend

Just a final clash and a broken sob

No more heart strings left to bend

You've got your hand on the knob

The door slams

A dull ache

The dam breaks

My hands shake

Tears escape and I break

Was it real?

Was it fake?

I sworn I loved you

You raised the stakes

We both lost

We both fell

No matter the cost
