The End of Me

“Goodnight,” you murmured
                                                                “Goodbye,” I whispered.
as you held my eyes
                                                                feeling hollow and numb
with your soothing cool ones
                                                                knowing that after I’m gone
and you kissed me slowly
                                                                you’ll have no problem forgetting
so I would never forget
and finding someone better than me
how comfortable I made you
                                                                to call your own
and how happy you were now
                                                                and to love unconditionally.
that I’m finally better,
I knew my time was up,
and standing on my feet.
                                                                and my days were numbered.
But I didn’t notice.
                                                                But you didn’t notice.
