The Ending
I don't want to write about you.
I don't want to see you.
I don't want to think about you.
So stop.
Erase the memory that lingers when someone curls their lips to form the syllables of my name.
Forget me.
Let our past slowly become nonexistent.
Let it rest in peace.
May it never be revived.
It lived its day, its time is done.
Silence me.
Do not speak my name or tell my story.
I was once yours, yes, but let me free.
I once loved you, but you no longer have the power to speak my words.
Love me.
Remember that I was good.
Do not put the false idea that I never once gave you my all.
Do not criminalize me for my past mistakes.
You know love built the mountains that you have destroyed.
I once was all you thought of, so do not lie to yourself and others.
Embrace the fact that it is over.
You killed it.
It was a precious thing and your hands had never held something like it before.
You didn't know that your grip had become too strong.
It overwhelmed you and you blame its death on the fact that I was not perfect.
You were the murderer.
It's hard to hear but it is the truth.
Let me go.
You have stripped me down to a place I never thought I could reach.
My head doesn't spin at the thought of your name anymore.
It has become meaningless.
I've let you go in the most peaceful way possible.
So let me go.
Erase the memory of my name, forget me, silence me, love me, and know that it's over.
I gave you every piece of what built me to who I am.
Now throw it away because it means nothing.
You are nothing to me.
I am nothing to you.
I will write about you, but only with freedom.
I will see you, but only as a stranger.
I will think about you, but only when I realize I have forgotten you.
