Endless

She reads of the tales
Of long ago
How is it that she can still remember all of them?
Even those that she swore to forget

Like that of Cupid and Psyche
Who could never be.
Yet found a way.
She hates them all

She is all alone.
Until he comes, and breaks her heart
How could he crack her
Where she couldn’t be fixed

On and off.
Endless cycle
She is happy.
She has nothing.

Is he part of her life?
She doesn’t want him to be
When he is…. There is no fairy tale happy ending.
The time for stories is over.

This is her reality
And it will be what she chooses.
