Endless Blue

A single ray of moonlight

illuminates the bay

down to the restless ocean

where you have gone away

My love I walk the seashore

and gather driftwood there

I light a fire and think of you

and wonder how you fare

Within me is an empty space

that holds the shape of you

I lie on the sand

and gaze above

into the endless blue
