The Endless Chase

The world is moving fast

Seems like everything is moving fast

All except for me

As a teenage boy should be

How can I ever get it done?

Don’t know a thing or two about W2s or M1s

The world is moving fast

I can’t take time to appreciate the things that may never last

Deadlines due, schools to choose, still have no clue

They yell so loud, they push me off my feet

They want it done, they want it complete

The world is moving fast

I can’t focus on the prize

What if it is all just one big lie?

That can’t be it, promise me there’s more to come

In this world that is moving fast

I haven’t talked to my father today

My brothers are waiting for me to play

My mother just wants me to stay

I have all the time in the world, but the world is moving fast

But what if I can pump the brakes?

Will everything go wrong?

Will everything fall out of my world?

The world that is moving fast?

That can’t be it, the consequences are horrendous

The grind to catch up with the world is endless

The best thing to do is move fast enough

Fast enough with the world

The vision of making my family proud, making full use of my potential

It seems like it is essential to bolster my credentials

To end my timeless chase for greatness

Inspired by the hard truth that the world is moving fast
