Endless Fight
Silence is suffocating but when he screams he chokes on fear
He doesn’t want them to know he doesn’t want them to hear.
He doesn’t want to be here.
And like the sky cries rain he cries acid tears
That embeds in his soul and over the years
They’ve crystalized to reflect his being
And oh how they shine
To where he can’t hide all the scars
The ones he wears on his heart and his arms.
He’s tried too many times to find a way out
To fly higher than the sky or turn the world about
In his hands
To see if God has his life planned
Or if he should let the cards lay where they land.
Cold and afraid he tries to make sense of the thoughts in my mind
But the times he’s failed is all he can find
And that leads to the failures that make up his life
And he’s sick of all the disillusion and strife that built up in his veins
Begging him to somehow change
Every circumstance to which he calls home.
“God I can’t do this anymore”
He cries and falls to the floor.
This is a scene he’s played before
He’s closed the window and locked the door
His heart’s beating harder than waves on the shore
Being pushed by a fierce relentless storm.
From beneath the bed he pulls a blade
The enforcer of scars without chance to fade
As cold metal presses to his chest he realizes the act closes differently tonight
With held breath and all his might
He plunges into an eternal night.
