Endless Puzzle

Pieces scattered everywhere

Here, there,

All over

Pieces from everyone

Bomfim

Neves

Mathieu

Lessard

Everyone gives some.

My tia’s hair

My papai’s eyes

My mother’s smile

My aunt’s love of reading

My grandpa’s love of games

My grandma’s kindness

My mother’s generosity

My Vovo Tom’s love of soccer

My Voinha’s love of travel

I am my family.

Always visiting, always talking

Always staying in touch, always spending time together

In English, In Portuguese

In Maine, In Florida,

In California, In Brazil

They love me, they teach me, they support me

I love them, I teach them, I support them

I am my family.

When I am injured

When I am sad

When I am happy

I go to my

Family

They call me, they email me, they write me

They are there for

Me.

Without them where would I be?

I certainly wouldn’t be me.

Without them I wouldn’t have learned how to walk

Or talk

I wouldn’t know how to care

Or share

I wouldn’t know how to give

Or love

They taught me strength and loyalty.

Through school

Through injuries

Through difficulties

with friends and anyone,

I stayed strong.

They all give me pieces.

in their stories,

in their actions,

in their emails,

in their visits,

More and more pieces are added to me

A never ending, never finished

Puzzle.

Always room for more

Never done

Growing, Changing, Learning

Always open, always yearning to grow

Through books, I learn some.

Through family I learn more.

The priceless things like

Giving, loving, staying strong, laughing, being loyal.

The valuable things come from my

Family

My passion is family,

You are your passion

I am my family.
