Endurance

Dear Me,

I know it hurts right now,

The pain in your eyes grow as you look up at me and ask,"how?"

One more step I say,

You stand slowly and continue on towards nowhere,

You yell at me to let you stop; cries echoing through the empty air,

One more step I plead,

You stumble forward; tears caressing your tired face,

You push yourself forward and fall to your knees with grace,

Just one more step I cry,

Demons laugh as we step; never have felt this pain before,

We collapse unable to move an inch more,

We made it I say.
