Endurance

Location

Weak is what they call you.

Unreasonable is what they deem you.

Useless is how they label you.

And pointless is how they label your dream

Unquestionable is your devotion, to something so precious as finding your path in life.

But they will scoff at you until the day you succeed.

They may continue to hurt you, but you must endure.

For nothing was ever accomplished without endurance

And no man, woman or child truly lived without struggle.

They laugh when you say you want to change lives, yelling

"What are you but a speck in the universe?"

I am strong. I have knowledge. And knowledge, as they say, is power.

I am the same person when I wake up in the morning and when I lay my head down at night.

I am the same person after I wash my face and with makeup plastered on me.

I am the same person that fights with my sister and smiles when I laugh and cries with my friends.

They will laugh at me. They will laugh at my dreams. They will laugh at my kindness. They will laugh at my sincerity.

But I don't care.

I know that I am not weak, nor unreasonable, nor useless, but empowered, worthy, and devoted.

I am a dedicated individual with dreams beyond their ignorant eyes and deeper than their minds can see.

They will laugh at me, but I will no longer worry for I know that my plans are great, my goals are high, and I value my dreams over their opinions.

It's not always easy. I'm not always confident. Not when I'm in pain. Not when I struggle. Not when they scorn me. And I may fail.

But I will endure.
