The Enemy

I stare out the window watching life pass by, my time is running out...Tick (the click of a man's heals)...Tock (the intensity is growing)... The blue sky filled with black and grey clouds. The birds soar upon the wind and the trees let go of their leaves as the cold hangs in the air; clutching to the metal bars in which I am captive. Tick... I am cooped up, caged in solitary as if I am some simple minded criminal; awaiting the freedom of the afterlife. I have committed sins but God's love will save me. I will be free once more to pillage as I please; to paint with the color symbolizing my brothers. They cannot save me my brothers; though I shall remain eternally faithful. Tock... They will carry out our plans in my absence and succeed in destroying our enemy. The enemy. Tick... My only sister was taken by them, found a few days after she went missing; initiation. We will soon be reunited and nothing will separate us again. Tock... As my time runs out I plead my younger siblings shall rise for revenge to take lives for which mine is being taken. Tick... Accused of murder seven different occasions; never caught until now. Tock... I leave this in hope that others may find strength in these words and be proud of who we are.
