English Sonnet

The snow had piled, so pure, there on the ground.

Now nearing what had seemed so alluring,

She stopped and stooped to see what could be found.

And lo the cold it had been enduring!

She gave it her warmth and her affection,

She gave it her time and her devotion.

Her attempt was for a new direction,

She hoped to rekindle lost emotion.

She often took it to this place and that,

It repeatedly traveled by her side.

The conversations evermore fell flat,

But leave now she could not, for she was tied.

She wasted away because of her crime:

A heart without a mind is wasted time
