The Enigma of Love

It all starts with daily talks,

Then it shifts over to daily walks, calls, or being together.

After a month or so, I wouldn't believe it to have been true.

"Because I Love You," You cheated on me.

From talking to me everyday and sending me texts,

To being one word replies and destructive outbursts.

Avoiding me at every sight, when with your friend.

Was it her? Is she the one you would prefer? Or am I just plain blind?

My best friend always told me how she saw you with another,

But I went ahead to go and say, "That's just his friend."

“Because I Love You, I’ll Protect You,” my best friend said.

Playing a game I never knew had started before we even met!

I asked you who you were with, and tried to figure out where you have been.

You said, “Trust me Because I Love You!”

But nothing changed.

“Because I love you!” I ignored the truth,

From listening to my best friend say to leave you because you didn’t deserve me.

Little did I know, right after that fog cleared

I saw my best friend with you.

Hugging, smiling, and laughing.

All the things you refuse to do with me.

Running and crying until my voice was gone!

You both came to me and said “Because I Love You, I'll be right by your side.”

Embraced by two thick fogs of lies,

“Because I Love You too, I’ll give up everything for you two…”
