Enlightenment
The crisp opening of a dusty book.
And His eyes are upon me.
The spine creaks as it unseals its secrets,
The forgotten knowledge of a story long past,
The hidden wisdom of Cicero
Spoken in a crowded room.
But I don’t hear it.
There’s another’s voice
Now whispering to me in the shadows of my mind.
In the dark places of my own truth.
A new idea
Met by my stubborness.
Eyes opened.
In this epiphany I'm comforted.
Never before
Did I pine for such intellect,
Such brilliance of a mind.
Thinking
no longer
has any
boundaries
He sees me.
And in this moment,
I am his mystery,
The ambition of his intellectual curiosity,
To know me as the one whom he both wants to
challenge
And
Completely wreck
With his concept of reality.
The passion of an intellectual attraction.
Our minds are bonded together in this moment,
With the reading of Cicero ongoing in the background
And I am found
Mindless.
Without words.
Without thought.
Just caught….
Staring…
Back…
At him.
Mind altered...
Enlightened.
