Enough

Pop! Child-proof caps never stopped me from getting what I wanted. I glanced into the bottle, Smiling at every Ambien pill I saw. I had been longing for this day, No one was home. My parents were at work, And my brother, Andrew, was still at school. Everything was perfect, For my shining moment. I left a note for my family, Explaining a couple reasons for leaving so soon. Here were a few of them for you to read: I was tired of always failing when I tried so hard; I was sick of never being the best at everything; I could not handle those popular girls and cocky boys any longer; I was done with everyone's happiness and cheerfulness about their wonderful lives; I could not seem to do things right; And I always felt out of place. I had decided the easiest way to die was by overdosing on sleeping pills, So that was what I decided to do. I was done dealing with the nonsense, So I prepared for my final minutes on earth. I filled up my glass of water to the rim, With the bottle of Ambien in the other hand. I looked at the clock one last time, 2:35. I placed the pills in my mouth, And took a few swigs of water. For a second I could still see everything, Then the bathroom went black. I had enough, Reality got to me.

I decided to write a poem about teen suicide because people really need to be aware of it. This subject matter is happening more and more often these days and the increasing numbers of teen suicides must stop!
