Enough

Pop!
Child-proof caps never stopped me from getting what I wanted.
I glanced into the bottle,
Smiled at every Ambien pill I saw.
I had been longing for this day,
No one was home.
My parents were at work,
And my brother, Andrew, was still at school.
Everything was perfect,
For my shining moment.
I left a note for my family,
Explaining a couple reasons for leaving so soon.
I will share some reasons with you,
I was tired of always failing when I tried so hard;
I was sick of never being the best at everything;
I couldn't handle those popular girls and cocky boys any longer;
I was done with everyone's happiness and cheerfulness about their wonderful lives;
I couldn't seem to do things right;
Ever.
I always felt out of place.
I decided the easiest way to die was by overdosing on sleeping pills,
So that's what I had decided to do.
I was finished dealing with this nonsense,
So I prepared for my final minutes here on earth.
I filled up my glass of water to the rim,
With the bottle of Ambien in the other hand.
I looked at the clock one last time,
2:35.
I placed the pills in my mouth,
And took a few swigs of water.
For a second I could still see everything,
Then the bathroom went black.
I had had enough,
Reality got to me.
