Enough
I love you
Enough to stand still and look down so I can see my heart beat through my chest
Enough to write you poetry when everyone tells me that’s lame, even you
Enough to rip open a child and steal their heart because I need storage for more love, which is weird because I’m a Buddhist
But I don't love you enough
I tell people that I love you and they seem to understand
They don't understand why we love who we love but they do understand why we love to love
And we all understand love when we feel it
And I understand you
I love you
But I don't love you enough
I don't love you enough to convince you not to hurt me
I don't love you enough to make you want to have me as your only one
I don't love you enough to make you realize that you mean something to me
But it's fine. I can understand this
Because it's my fault
Because I don't love you enough
But I've been changing
I found myself and I found you with me
But I don't want you to be there with me
Because I don't love you enough
I can’t love fast enough for my heart to pump blood to all the wounds I’m left with because of you
I won’t love all the other souls with such fire too the way that you do
My love doesn’t go door to door buying you from every person’s menu out of fear you appear on more than one
So even if you say that not loving you enough makes everything okay
Or even if I sometimes believe you
That will never deny one important thing
That I love you
And that should be enough
