ENTERruption of The Bell Jar
ENTERruption of the Bell Jar…
The Bell Jar
Branches from the fig tree
Simultaneously becoming one
In her mind
Will she ever branch off?
Or remain complacent in time?
Ring ring ring…
She awakens from her slumber
Distorted
From the night of terrors haunting her as she rests
Rests do not seem to come easily.
No dreams, just nightmares.
Especially when she’s forced to battle.
Her darkened subconscious
In a society that deems to label
The psyche of a Wombman
As insubordinate to the stipulations
Of Wombmen’s societal expectations
Be Pure
Be Innocent
Be A Good Girl
Be Submissive
Be Obedient
Be everything outside yourself
Whilst the inside of you gets placed in this bell jar
Of what a wombman should be and present themselves as
Obligations and expectations
Labels and Jars
Fig trees and branches
Morals and Standards
All lead to depression.
Or should I inform you?
A deep pressing of one’s soul
A repression
Rather repressing what Wombmen had been told
A Suppression of one’s expression
That leads to Wombmen deeming their silence gold.
But silence is silver.
Like the coins from Judas
In exchange for a piece of his soul
Psychological battles fought
Through Psychiatrists
By shock therapy and medication
Seeking peace
Within a world full of disturbances
Distractions
Extensive doubt and hesitation
Being the one made to face illusions
Through your own sight
Whilst every Wombman around you seems to be third eye-blind
Accepting fate for fate, instantaneously withering away
Enduring through silence
Dominance and one’s misplaced aggression
Losing perception of a destination
From a world of Wombmen’s oppression
Nervous system imbalances
Psychological and societal intrusion
White noise and padded rooms
Asylums packed
With gifted Wombmen
their intuition
Being used as experimental
Do you truly believe it’s coincidental?
Endure
Be Strong
Be Quiet
Be Compassionate
Smile
Be everything but fragile
Whilst the inside of you is shattering the glass of the bell jar
Stipulations
Labels and Jars
Fig trees and branches
Morals and Standards
Through Sylvia’s locutions of fig trees and Susanne’s eyes on the big screen…
I too, was cast in the same role not of my own accord.
Playing characters
Being met with alleged heroes and villains
Monsters in the closet, under your bed or right by your side
Nonetheless the one’s full of past transgressions in your own head
Angels and daemons
Often close enough to look you in your eyes
Tongues full of disdain and lies
What’s fact, opinion and one’s fiction?
When the world deems to label us
Put us in a jar placed on a shelf full of feminine restrictions?
Then call us "too masculine"
A rendition of feminine rebellion
When we've been made to guard, provide and protect ourselves
Causing internal friction
From such a catastrophic hell we’re forced to live in
But we don’t get to live
We exist
Coming and going
Extensive psychological warfare, emotional impairment
Taught to be a form of endearment
Quite disturbing
Her body, but somehow not her choice?
Her voice, but she cannot self-express and articulate?
Her truth, but she has to remain entangled in illusions?
Delusions not of her own choosing
Since her youth
Her authenticity, but someway she becomes fake?
Her essence, but that gets distorted too! She's supposed to dim and dilute...
Her personality mimicked, mocked but never mirrored back at the muse...
Her life, but she’s made to exist outside of it…
Aloof
Her love, but is she truly meant to give it to everyone but herself?
Her mind, but it’s deemed to be filtered and tampered with!
Her sight, but she’s deemed crazy because she’s not blind?
Her power, but she’s made powerless?
Her autonomy, but she’s often made not to feel autonomous.
Continuously disrupting
Systems and patterns
Expectations and obligations
Stipulations
Labels and Jars
Fig trees and branches
Morals and Standards
In loving memory to those who never made it out of the Bell Jar‼️‼️‼️
The girl interrupted…
