Envy

Envy: a dark-purple monster who hides in the shadows of your subconscious and only slithers its way out of its lair when it knows it'll potentially be disturbed. It is the very essence of an emotional medley that mostly consists of anger, worry, and defensiveness. If it weren't for your cranium this jealous creature would be able to lash visibly its full fury out on whomever or whatever provokes it. During more extreme cases of its attacks, jealousy has been known to manipulate the human mind. In doing so, it is capable of reflecting its hideous image through the eyes and actions of its host. Often, it unnecessarily controls the thoughts of its hosts to make them believe that it is needed in certain predicaments. The average mind, of course, is easily fooled, making envy increasingly powerful every time it wraps itself around yet another victim.
