Envying God

Envying God

Heart in the past

Mind in the future

Body stuck in the daily

Wishing

Envying

The omnipresence of the God

Gunshot wounds upon reminiscence of what was

To drag a limp body through the daylight

As if zombies could actually occur

Churning, clicking, whirling,

The mind 'not now's & 'but soon's the today away

Living in a future of which you naively trust you remain a constant variable

Yearning for the past to return

Parasites

Leaving your body just a shell

Live in the now enough to know you envy God

Self righteously

Selfishly

Accept the gift of today

Use it

Shape it

Into something for which to be grateful for in the now
