EOP

Program for educational opportunity,
Which offered me impunity,
From social institutions bent on ruining me,
But now I got campus unity,
I used to do it for me,
Now I do it for us,
I do it for eop,
Cuz at cal state LA there's good people I trust,
So I'm making a thrust,
And I'm not giving up,
I'm going to make it to school even if it means I'll be taking the bus,
Silver line costs $2.50 so my tap card is a must,
And if I'm broke I guess I'll float to school on a gust,
Because steve and becky lifted me up,
They told me shoot for success,
So I got finger on the trigger and I'm ready to bust,
And make these hierchies gush,
Because I'm coming to crush,
now I love my education and I used to just lust,

Educational opportunity,
I wasn't graduating,
That's what they was saying,
So I found myself panicking,
Body stiff like a manikin,
Scared and unsure of what would be happening,
But then my counselor Mr. Ujama came on the scene,
And intervened,
And introduced me to Becky and Steve,
At first Steve seemed funny and Becky seemed mean,
But in reality they was just a little extreme,
But they worked as a team,
And encouraged me to dream,
And told me that I could be anything that I wanted to be,
And I'm thankful for that,
And the fact that people in the office like Odessa had my back,
The feedback I get from these people make me feel empowered,
The greatest staff ever from Ms. Maxwell to Mr. Houseler
And now I know this summer I've learned from the best,
Cuz it's thanks to Ronald Martinez that I can make As and Bs on my math test,
I've had help from Joey, Ms. Donnelan and Ms. Riviera,
And the skills that I've learned I'll remember forever,
And to the friends I made be sure to stand tall,
And I know I got your back cuz I love all yall,
I've gotten care and support from many,
But not can compare to professor Penni,
Eccentric they call her but to me she had vision,
And it's because of her I changed my major decision,
Now in my systematic defiance,
I've changed my major to political science,
So I can dismatle these giants and tyrants,
That falsely imprison my people with their badges and sirens,
See now after summer bridge I know my people are sick,
And civilized with a stick,
Now I've realized this system isn't equal,
The system wanted me to be a fried chicken,
But because of eop,
I'm a golden eagle!
