An Epic..
just wondering what will happen in the days to come,
already exhausted in a fight that's just begun,
all my blood sweat and tears will be used up till the war is won.
The story is of a father,
whose wife bore a son,
prophecies foretold of a fierce one,
who would've known by age 15 he would own a gun,
pieces in a drug cartel to enlarge his funds.
But now he's faced with a dilemma; his army jinxed,
left alone to battle enemy,
whoever thought he'd be dethroned?
just a part of the shadow of a world he owned,
he now felt his heart turn cold,
visions fade away and the streets aren't paved in gold,
everything but his soul seemed to rise,
the streets were hot; too much for the simple human to survive,
he took a look up to the skies,
seemed like sunset,
until he saw demons with broken chests and long necks,
he noticed the sign that said welcome to hell,
blessed by an upside down crucifix,
not surprised at all but used to this,
birthed of catholic faith,
known to be nice but can hold his weight,
never backed down and never give up was what his father would say,
but now things are different,
easily but mysteriously changed,
the Prophet; he was named,
for the man he once became,
reached into his pocket,
found his weapon connected to his chain,
the power of Christ was with him yet he didn't know how it'd be tamed,
despite it being hell anything was fair gain.
After many fights nd praying of psalms and the like,
the book of revelation seemed to power his might,
he continued along his path until suddenly,
a push against his vest,
then multiple shocks,
after was seemed to be eternity in the inferno,
he was back on earth,
back in the concrete jungle,
no more trouble he thought,
then sleep came about,
without warning his eyes dropped.
Recurring dreams of death and agony,
3 days have passed and insomnia seemed to be the only prize of his tragedy,
never thought twice about his pain only wondered
"is mom mad at me?"
"who were those guys?"
"why didn’t I die in that street?”
God must have something in store for me
a life saving lesson; maybe this is just consequence for my deeds
too bad I’m not dead; otherwise Dante would be happy
bringing more pain than pleasure,
more than possible measure,
constantly changing antics with the seasons and the weather
never wanted to do better,
sin just seemed more fun
or with ignorance: more better.
With a sense of irony,
He knew he lost is way,
Condemned to confinement,
He developed a habit,
Understanding that there was more to life
Than his stagnant strife.
Thanks to those like Jay-Z
KRS-One, Rakim and the like.
Unlike the other artists that make music of non-importance
All about drugs and fights
Now he had inspiration
To turn back the clock
And start right.
But just as things returned to normalcy,
One moment caused a relapse,
Something so silly
Like an allergic reaction to decaff
Such actions are unjustified
This is not sports; no one is worthy of a recap
Fortunately for you
One is not worthy of their gift
So now prepare for a trip
To the past
Brace yourself for stories
This surely is not the last.
Flow comes down with a comets blast,
Force strong enough to put one in a full body cast
Fear must fear me before I fear thee
So understand where I come from
Respect my pedigree
Or degree of G.
Prepare yourself for the fight that never ends
Man vs. Beast
Pussy vs. G
Good vs. Evil
Heaven vs. Hell
Its now 9 am
Listen to the ring of the church bells,
Haven’t confessed a sin in years
The devil must be waiting for me in you know where,
With all who go there,
Shall I dare?
Follow a path of righteousness
And fool thy snare?
Because of sin; beware
He who one cannot see is always there
Plotting your suffering and misery
In a demonic fair,
Only looking for some fame,
And if that is the case
How about we play your game?
Or I can take the higher way
Be what you’re not
Claim what’s mine
And leave you distraught
Seek what you lost
Claim what I find,
And you can find who you are.
Now evil is harassing me,
Take control of my mind and body,
Let me set the city ablaze,
Bring you pain,
When you can’t walk,
Break your cane,
When you can’t see,
Set you on the wrong path,
And when you can’t breathe
Smoke till your lungs turn to dust,
Suddenly the devil’s advocate
Minutes before dusk
Let the anger consume me
Manipulate trust
Let your beauty confuse me
Exude lust
Lost in emotion
Show me love
Not just because
But for the sake of us
Put you back on track
Along the correct path
These charioteers don’t play
Be my Beatrice
As I am the modern Dante,
Rummaging through the Inferno
Trying to get to Paradiso
Make a pit stop in Purgatorio
Only because it is my name
Lost…
