The Epidemic

The calm before the storm

The silence before the horn

Reason has sworn

History has forewarned

Examine

Lurking in plain sight

This villain

Creeping through young minds

Will pillage

Destroying lives

And finish

Down the human race will dive

How the lies have spread

Preaches that the human race is already dead

When life is the only thing we comprehend

This disease has to be put to an end

Reason and rationality have led the way

From primitive thinking humans break away

Created legends that have changed history

Yet common sense has become a mystery

We have given power to a higher being

That has been proven nonexistent

Justifying all the bleeding

To a figment, we are assistants

Emotion is not a call for action

Choice comes with a reaction

But if we choose logically

Individuals will reach a harmony

Altruism has caused wars

By teaching to serve the common good

In reality it has done more harm

Keeping our greatness under the hood

I make an oath to serve myself

And in turn I will create wealth

Never to sacrifice people to my life

With this statement the human race will become divine

Please listen carefully

Heed this warning

Before we create darkness

That will cover every morning

The world will suffer

If the thinking is

Sacrifice yourself to others

Starving children

Causing havoc

People will be smothered

But as long as self interest

Is the first priority

And the individual

Is the only minority

Than the human race will understand

Your first service is not to your fellow man

Here is my first call to action

That rational thinking and logic

Are life’s only main attraction

Before we can reach our full potential

Our mindset must change

So our lives can become monumental
