Epistle 1
Mom,
What has the world come to?
The hatred among races.
The cry of the young .
Bullets spewing every which way as if some way it were random,
but all the same people are left behind in the carnage
struggling to hold on.
All because some insane man walked into the public and squeezed the trigger.
The one thing that causes me most tears is our human incapability. the fact that there’s nothing we can do about it yet we run wildly into unchartered territory hoping to slay a dragon with nothing but pages of doctrine written up in reaction to what happened.
But history is doomed to repeat itself that way, So why do we still follow that well beaten path?
I can’t speak out for the homeless.
I can’t speak out for the wealthy.
And I can’t speak out for the sick and dying.
But I can speak out for myself: a middle of the road teenager with barely any experience but enough conscience to know what’s right.
