Since the founding of this country, we talk about equality
But really it’s hard for me to see it
There’s still racism, sexism, fights against sexuality
So where’s all that spoken of equality?
It’s held behind the doors of churches and congress
It’s behind those who think white make is superior
Leaving the rest of us inferior
Black, female, gay, transgendered
We all have to feel the violence and slander
I was supposed to be born in the land of the free
But all I see is what they don’t want us to be
