equanimity

Unobtainable for those with active hearts

Blessed with the curse that is the past.

Ones mind can go as quick as it must,

Providing one too many ways to take this path

Redemption around the corner but never arriving

Never good enough but always smiling

The height of success he knows it matters not

The past only hurts, shatters and rots

When the ashes fall he’s devoured by ones simplicity

Of finally leaving this life with equanimity
