Equestrian

Concentration.

Sweat dripping down you face,

Carressing the sweet curves of you chin

Anticipation building

As you await your number to be called

But remember

Eyes up

Heels down

Shoulders back

Hands steady

And smile, like you've just won the lottery

Equestrian.

That's what it's all about

The hard work that never seems to pay off

The endlessly frustrating rides

And sweat and grit that goes into each one.

The long hours put in at the farm

Because there is no other place one would rather be

Sportsmanship.

Faith.

Determination.

None can be left behind

In the name of the game, there is no losing

Only progress and acceleration

Equestrian.

That's who I am

Not just a girl

Always with tangled hair, dirty clothes, and a grimace on her face

But much more,

An equestrian.
