Erasers
What a wonderful thing it is
To be able to erase your mistakes
On a piece of paper.
To be able to remove what you
Don’t want
To have a clean slate.
The only flaw in erasers,
Is that they don’t work on life.
In life, you can’t take back
What you say
Or do.
Life isn’t written with
A pencil
Life is written with a pen,
An irremovable, irreplaceable,
Unconditional, unforgiving pen
So no matter what you say
Or do,
It cannot be erased.
And no matter how much you wish
To forget your mistake,
It will never be truly gone.
It will always be there, lurking.
So always be careful what you
Do in life.
Every day you see people
Who have wrecked friendships,
Relationships, nations, lives.
All because they were careless
With their pen.
So always think before you act
Because in life,
There are no erasers.
