Erasing the Stains of Pain&

Erasing the Stains of Pain

I am so full of glee

that I can see

so that I may finally

be free.

I can leave all of the pain that I carry

Behind me.

I can walk in front of it

continue to walk away from it

choose to leave it there.

Though sometimes

I must sit in it.

let it transmit

to learn all that

I must quit.

I don’t have to carry it with me

I can choose

not to fight its wars

or let it score

no longer mourn

or feel scorned

anymore

I can choose

to leave it behind me

not let it

redefine me

or redesign me.

I can choose to rip out my thorns

transform

be reborn.

I can release the pain

by wiping away its stains

So that it no longer remains.
