Eros

Eros

His arrows swung on the pages left and right

Piercing the screens scratched on the surface

Nimble and cautious he waits

Careful not to swing the wrong way

It’s a delicate game

Of mismatched faces and broken stories

He sits waiting

Gripping tight to the whispers around him

For he listens closely to ones just like him

Scavenging the hills and valleys of loves true form

Now diminished to a bright string of light

And a swipe

Swinging left and choosing right

He sits back in awe

Dancing upon the memories of those days

When his arrows were straight

Flung deep into veins

Piercing the bloodstream

Pumping sweet soft nectar

Of true love but such pain

Leaving a small unhinged splinter

He sits blindfolded and frail

Tasting mischief on his tongue

Wondering whos to come next

As he stumbled along

Crafting ideas

And new ways to have fun

But he fears nothing is left

Too much damage has been done

For Eros still lingers

You can hear him still

Whistling through tree tops

And prancing through the hills

But even our Eros spends time alone

Scrolling through tinder

Glued to the phone
