Erosion

Seeping, trickling, running down the face

Wearing away, leaving nothing in its place

Relentless and degrading, a never ending flow

This is what harmful words do, when from our mouths they go

We interact with many people throughout the day

Yet spend such little time thinking about the impact of what we say

Insults, gossip, lies, they all break people down

In this pool of negativity, many people drown

Next time you go to speak

Instead of making others feel weak

Decide if what you are may say is kind

If not, let the words remain in your mind.
