Erosion / Depression

I feel like water, Always desperately flowing down the path of least resistance - But where I find myself now there is no path; High stone walls on every side, A solid, smooth basin Without a single crack to trickle through, - The pressure builds steadily As my past catches up, Inevitably crashing, swirling into me - I'm filling up and up and up - Gravity pulling downward, Stronger with each drop; That heavy ache growing with it. - I stare into the sky As I slowly rise towards it, And I wonder if this time I'll run out before I spill over the edge, Only to run desperately anywhere again - Forever searching for a gentle place to - rest.
