An Escape
What is needed when the mouth cannot articulate emotion?
I bring my inner thoughts into concentration, yet there is nothing? No words?!
What is needed when the body is in new territory,
and cannot speak the current language?
It is not a wanting, not a craving,
not a quick fix that leaves the user with feelings of lack.
Not an overuse on your life journey "home",
that hinders your way back.
Yet, you find yourself in the sweet serenity of addiction.
There is a voice that rings out clearly to you in the darkness,
is this it?
The mothers balogna sandwhich, and glass half full of cool-aid in the summer.
Is that it?
The hug as you go home crying,
because you get a sweet reminder that all complexions are beautiful.
It is everything,
when you feel nothing.
And, it is sweet nothings
when you feel everything.
A wanting, a craving, a need.
An escape.
Music.
