Escape From Life

The girl that hides within the room upstairs

A book is opened for escapes of strife

That lonely corner no one ever dares;

As she is reading stories-better life.

Of flying castles, dragons- magical.

Of flying, soaring, gliding way past worlds

Of hot sands, crashing waves-dynamical.

Of gleaming diamonds or discovered pearls

A place a girl can dream in peace out loud

To be that someone laying on the grass

Wind whispering as softly as dreamy clouds

But dreams 'a-shatter'ed; a saddened lass

A ray of dawn-a woman's heart of stone;

Begin to scrub and clean;her fragile bones
