An Escape from Reality

Moving a thousand miles away from where I was born and raised,

I was lonely and scared having left my hometown the end of my freshman year,

I was a mad at the world teen on my sophomore year,

Until I found a few friends,

Yet I was still an angry teen,

A lost soul that couldn’t find her way around,

Then one day in English class did I find a new found love,

Writing stories and even poetry took me away from reality,

And into a world my imagination can only take me,

It gave me the calm and the serenity that I truly needed,

‘Til this day it’s a means to escape,

To worlds unseen yet,

Waiting to be discovered by me.
