Escape but Where to?

The emptiness eased

But only momentarily

 While my social life evaporated

Along with any previous sanity

As yet another chapter was read,

And another fantasy created

As yet another novel(s)

Was added to the stack of “Already Read” novels

Which stood tall and unwavering

(Not unlike myself)

In the center of my room.

Escape provided

Through the pages of those novels

But their also the reason such…

Escape was derived;

The necessity of escape absent in the absence of novels

Because in the absence of such beauty

Which is created at the whim of the novelist,

Their lies no beauty

In which to compare the absence of beauty…

In my life.
