The Essence of Life

Each breath of air taken into our lungs,

every movement fabricated by our uniquely-crafted bodies-

how awesome these actions are. 

All of the words that slip past our lips and are spoken aloud,

the many scenes of the world that are perceived through our human eyes-

how awesome these abilities are. 

The people we are able to share this precious gift of life with,

the individuals who express unconditional love and connection towards us-

how awesome these beings are. 

Each day we are granted to acknowledge our presence,

and every day after that in which we are able to experience-

how awesome these privileges are. 

The rushing thoughts generated by our brains,

the complexity of our minds-

how awesome these feelings and intricacies are. 

In this world, there are multitudes of “awesome” entities,

but life itself allows us to determine and engage in these amazing things.

Therefore, the essence of life is above all the most awesome gift granted.
