The Essence of Poetry

Poetry to me, keeps me from feeling blue. 

It takes away all negative thoughts, leaving my mind free.

It provides meaning for my life without necessarily having to be right.

It teaches me that it is okay to speak, even when I feel like I do not have a voice.

It shows me that the world is anesthetically and deeply meaning full during times of mass confusion.

Words then become expressed, that I may have suppressed. 

Actions are not regretted written down on paper. Instead of me saying them aloud I have my own imaginary cloud of poetry. 

Thanks to poetry I am everything that makes me who I am.
