The Essence of Scrutiny
Perhaps the pool in the garden illuminated by the moonlight is nothing more than a luminous reflection of our very hopes and aspirations
We aspire to be the sharpest
The best
The brightest...
Not all of our ambitions are destined to launch like brilliant comets;
Some may law amid a smoldering ruin of our prized dreams.
For all comets meet their end in a sudden, turbid shatter,
As does life.
Our existence is plagued by the evil of time, which clenches the essence of humanity in an inevitable strangle
Too soon...
Too soon...
And we, as a people, as a species, and as a collection of thoughts conjure up this insightful prose of realization by the very light of the moon that shines down upon our glistening pools of reflection
And yet, life streams past our cognizance in a fragrant array of shimmering insects and the sweet scent of morning lilacs
The most secular meet the most ethereal under that same moon,
Two streams of thought collide
Two noble vanguards pass
Each guarding an aspect of humanity as we know it.
Society is a predestined dividing factor of the tree shoots of thought.
Scrutiny has left the rich bark of the tree dry and languished;
A true thorn in the side of a tolerant world.
And as it spins around its tilted axis, that world is the only place where humanity can share its thoughts.
A reflecting pool of its own, with humans equating to the indiscernible bacteria frothing in its secular waters...
