Etched Name

(poems go here) White wings circled the golden sun Like snowflakes, they tumbled to the grass like the dark curls tumbled down her arched back There was honey in her voice, and honey in her eyes; They blinked away salty tears, the pain melting in streaks down her face Numb Numb Numb The sunshine drenched the grass and kissed the nape of her neck The wilting daisy began to droop The petals floated gently like the same twirling snowflakes There were songs in heart, and words on her lips Bringing back that familiar pain of trying to smile when your heart aches The shadow of his name lingered on her lips Her red rosy lips chapped from the beaming light And she held that lone daisy, petal-less now And dwelled on the irony that befell her The day so bright and jubilant, The cumulus clouds streaking across the robin-egg coloured sky, The lush grass fresh with morning dew While her heart stormed With claps of thunder And bolts of lightning And swirling tornadoes tearing up her soul, And his sweet name, etched on her broken heart.
