Eternal

The sun melts down into the sky,

The bright white releasing its natural hues,

Water colored clouds float in wisps,

Oranges and reds and pinks and blues.

The sky is a canvas with colorful art,

Take a polaroid, keep it close to your heart.

Sooner or later, the pinks turn to grays,

The sky goes dark, preparing for a new day.

It’ll be back, they say

Like it was never gone.

6:07 AM.

The dark disappears.

The colors are back, like they were always here

But it’s not quite the same.

It’s new. It’s different.

You can accept it.

The polaroid etched into your brain

The ink blinding your sight.

It’s with you forever.
