Eternal (Never to Change)

I would never change

A single thing about myself

I would never let someone

Describe to me my hell

I understand what I've been through

And where I'm going to be

I've recognized my past mistakes

And all insanity

I've fallen hard on concrete ground

I've made my way back up

I've stared into the darkest eyes

I've broken the gaze enough times to know

Yeah, I now know

Can I call to attention

All my faults and contradictions

All the simple things I wish you'd recognize

I'm not just the sum of my past mistakes

But I'm not perfection on a silver plate

I'm here just because I have survived

And yes, there are many things I wish that I could change

But at the end of the day, it seems to be unwise

To give myself the authority

To deem any of my uncertainty

As unsubstantial, uimportant, and lies

I would just like to know that I

Will be content with being free

Accepting my past mistakes

And living life faithfully and fully

Here I stand, ready to decide

Will I change, will my dreams go to die

No, all the strength I've come to gain

All the pain I've come to shake

All the choices that I've made

It's all to be eternal

Never to change
